Different innovative textile technologies and creative pattern-cutting have been applied to Michelle Lin’s works. “When I was Young Fashion Collection,” Graduation Fashion Collection 2016, is inspired by the childhood of Hong Kong kids. Prints are homework and artworks, with puff prints details. Thus colours are inspired by the playground and theme park. The silhouette of this collection is oversized avant garde with unisex concept.
Her entry was selected 2nd runner up in the Society of Dyers and Colourists International Competition. She applied the concept of eco-friendly in this design outfit and used different textures in a print to distort the faces for uniqueness.
The fashion design knowledge acquired has contributed to shape Michelle’s own style and aesthetic in both men and women swear and kept her challenging to transform traditional and regular details into unconventional possibilities. “My career goal is to be an influential fashion designer and build up a well-known brand which includes menswear and womenswear.”
